Blood tests

Many STDs show up in a sample of your blood, which is why a finger prick test or blood draw may be necessary for STD testing. Syphilis, HPV, and herpes are detectable this way. 

Swab tests

A swab of your urethra, vaginal opening, cervix, anus, or throat can identify infections of HPV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and others. 

Urinalysis

The team may ask you to urinate in a cup in a private restroom. The urine sample can help them identify STDs like trichomoniasis and gonorrhea.
